WHAT IF.. PREDATOR Vs RIDDICK
Christian Munoz Poses the question, what if Universal had done the Predator series..

I wanted to do something slightly different for this article, and talk about what would happen if Universal Studios had done the "Predator" film series instead of 20th Century Fox, including the idea of a crossover involving the Predator and the Furyan warrior Riddick from the "Chronicles of Riddick".

This YouTube video is basically a fan-made trailer that splices footage from the first "Alien vs. Predator" and "The Chronicles of Riddick", and is played up as a "what if.." type of scenario that shows the audience what would happen if the Predator were to fight Riddick in hand-to-hand combat using their bare hands or knives/wristblades.  The reason why I excluded the Smart Disc and Shuriken, is because while they're both melee weapons when used up close, they can also be thrown as heat-seeking projectiles, which would give the Riddick character a major disadvantage.  So I wanted it to be more evenly matched between the 2 characters.  I've even showed filmmaker David Twohy this fan-made trailer, and even he was quite impressed with what he's seen.  Especially now that he and actor Vin Diesel are about to start work on the next 2 "Riddick" sequels in the near future, as stated on various interviews.

David Paton, a good friend of mine from the IMDB message boards drew this concept art as a favor (who also drew up the Brute Alien concept art seen on my 2nd article), because I wanted to envision a very brutal and deadly fight between the Predator and our Furyan hero, Riddick.  And as you can see in the artwork, the Predator has unmasked himself and is fighting Riddick using only his wristblades, while Riddick fights it with the same 2 claw-shaped knives he fought the Necromongers with during the surface assault on the planet Crematoria.  As both have night vision modes, brute strength, excellent fighting skills, this puts both Riddick and Predator as even opponents.  It is shame that Stan Winston passed away last summer, as he's truly one of a kind.  But I mention, that if Stan was still alive and he saw this concept art, not only would he'll be very impressed by it, but will make him quite proud as well.

article thumbnailOh boy....here we go again!

Thanks to Apple, Paramount Pictures and Comingsoon we have the latest Ironman 2 one-sheet and a look into the next flick

Six  full clips from James Cameron's anticipated Avatar

So, we get our first sort of image from the 3rd film in the Twilight saga: Eclipse! Looks a little weak, if anything? Perhaps it's unfair to judge this with just the letters on their own.

It seems New Moon got the right colours from the book, with an earthy tone that suits the introduction of the Wolves - this is obviously trying to do the same thing, however the eclipse appearing from behind the P doesn't really work for me.

Hey what do I know? I'm a man... Still I have been imressed by what I've seen of New Moon so far and it appears to be miles away from the first film, which was a little too indie for its own good.
