WHAT IF.. RIDLEY HAD DONE AVP?
Christian Munoz brings us another article, this time its Aliens Vs Ridley Scott..
Before I go to talk about the subject matter at hand, I do want to apologize to the readers who couldn't access the 2 links from my last article when talking about some of the problems behind the "Alien", "Predator", and the "AvP" film franchises.  So I'd like to take this chance and clear something up if I may.....

One of the links shown, was that from BloodyDisgusting.com that interview British filmmaker Neil Marshall ("Dog Soldiers", "The Descent"), when he was one of 6 directors in the running at helming the upcoming "Predators" project, that Robert Rodriguez will be producing through his Troublemaker Studios production company.  But since then, a filmmaker by the name of Nimrod Antal has been officially tapped as the director of "Predators" recently, so let's hope they do the film some serious justice and puts the stand-alone franchise back on track.

The second link I had provided, talks about the different versions of the "Alien 3" scripts that were written by various screenwriters:

IMPOSSIBLE FUNKY LINK

(NOTE:  If anyone tries to access this link and it doesn't show up correctly, you might want to write it down just in case)

And as you can see, it talks about how William Gibson's version of the script that had Michael Biehn's character Hicks from "Aliens", as well as Lance Henriken's Bishop character as the main stars leading a new team of Colonial Marines.  Had they gone with this script, this seriously would've really put Michael Biehn on the map and boosted his career.  So I can understand why he mentions that it was very painful for him after finding out, that he wasn't going to appear in the movie, as he talks about this on the 2-Disc "Alien 3: Collector's Edition" DVD.

It also talks about David Twohy's take on the "Alien 3" script, as his script was the original prison concept that would later resurface in the current version of the movie.  Why Twohy was never credited in the movie, we'll never know.  But since i've been talking with David Twohy about his script, and being that he almost got the job of writing and directing the first "Alien vs. Predator", Hence the reason it may have a second chance at being made, should a third movie get the greenlight.

Now onto the main article.....

Now before anyone decides to chew me out over this, I'm not exactly sure how accurate that article is, but according to it, it mentions that legendary filmmaker Sir Ridley Scott had blasted film bosses for not allowing him to direct 2004's "Alien vs. Predator", and that he now wishes he could return to the series.  This could be the reason why Fox Studios would rather have Ridley direct the "Alien" prequel, instead of having Carl Erik Rinsch take on the job.

If what that interview says is true, that Ridley wishes he could've directed "AvP", it could've turned out to be another sci-fi/horror masterpiece, as he is the creator of the Alien franchise when directing the 1979 classic.

But since David Twohy also came close to helming "AvP" and having writing a very good "Alien 3" script, it would be a dream come true if Twohy ends up writing and directing an "AvP" revival movie, now that he fully supports our petition that i've shown him, with Sir Ridley Scott onboard as the film's main producer.

If this were to happen, they could take the exact same approach that Robert Rodriguez is taking with "Predators" by using his old script as a guide and having a non-studio approach, is both David Twohy and Sir Ridley Scott also using his (Twohy) old "Alien 3" script and Peter Briggs's original "AVP" script as guides, with Sir Ridley producing it through his production company.

So if anyone has questions on this matter, that goes for both fans, actors, and filmmakers alike, feel free to reach me here:

A NEW STAR WARS MOVIE?
article thumbnailOh boy....here we go again!

Thanks to Apple, Paramount Pictures and Comingsoon we have the latest Ironman 2 one-sheet and a look into the next flick

Six  full clips from James Cameron's anticipated Avatar

So, we get our first sort of image from the 3rd film in the Twilight saga: Eclipse! Looks a little weak, if anything? Perhaps it's unfair to judge this with just the letters on their own.

It seems New Moon got the right colours from the book, with an earthy tone that suits the introduction of the Wolves - this is obviously trying to do the same thing, however the eclipse appearing from behind the P doesn't really work for me.

Hey what do I know? I'm a man... Still I have been imressed by what I've seen of New Moon so far and it appears to be miles away from the first film, which was a little too indie for its own good.
