Despite less than spectacular taking for the last film, could X-Files 3 be a possibility....

"They've talked about doing it in 2012. I think there were some discussions about that."
Last I heard, they were making a direct to video sequel, despite poor takings at the box office last year. I loved X-Files but they really need a film that you know, contains aliens or supernatural stuff - not some weird CSI - ALASKA type film we got last year.
Poor old Frank Spotnitz' mail bag got spammed from X-Philes in regards to the news above and he said :
I'm afraid I have no news to report - other than our continuing desire to make a third film if there's an audience for it."
