The upcoming third series of Torchwood has a title -"Children Of Earth" will follow the team as it battles "for the future of the human race against the fiercest force they have encountered." As reported earlier in the year, we know that the new series of the Doctor Who spin-off will involve a single story. It will also premiere on BBC One, having previously been shown on BBC Three and BBC Two, and will be broadcast over five consecutive nights (in a similar fashion to the channel's other crime & thriller dramas). Filming for the five-part series, which is due to be broadcast in early 2009, has already begun in the Cardiff area.
The second series of the show helped to establish it as a hit in it's own right, attracting audiences of over 3 million and being greeted with warm reviews. The BBC has also been able to sell Torchwood to more than 20 countries around the world. Source: BBC
