Ron Moore advises that there are no plans for a Cinema outing for the crew of Battlestar Galactica :

"I think the series works best as an ensemble TV drama,"

The production of Season 4 was cut short by the writers strike, with only 11 episodes in the can. Apparently while walking the picket lines Mr Moore had a few lightbulb moments.
