This episode is a laugh a minute, be prepared for aching sides. Once again the thrills and spills don’t fail us. With the sudden tension of what we think is an escaped soul coming after Sam as soon as the episode starts. But alas it is nothing to worry about, it turns out that dear old Satan has come through and sent Sam his contract via demon messenger (Aaron Douglas, who plays Galer Tyrol on Battlestar Galactica) I would just like to put in, it has not escaped my notice as I am sure it hasn’t others that, we seem to be getting a regular dose of shirtless Sam in each episode. Never mind me though, I’m sure it does have a certain allure to it right? It’s time to say something about the meaning of true friendship. That really is what Sam has in Socks, after all fella's how many of your so called friends would lace fingers with you, in bright daylight and still greet passersby even if it was to hold you up? Look out it seems we may have had a visit for Slimer. No it’s just Sam’s escaped soul. It seems that dumping toxic waste can came back to slip you up after all. All those, poor law official's they are just trying to get justice for the better of mankind. There’s no holding back this time when it comes to Sam opening the vessel box. He just calmly picks it up and opens it that is until he sees what’s in there. All grandmothers and their knitting needles will be shaking with glee at the sight of the bright, woolly Christmas scene that emerges. But with fine effect the great ending award for saving the day must go to dear Socks. Not only does he don the vessel and jumps in to save poor Sam by sucking up the demon, he then gets uncomfortably stuck to Sam and has to go through what could end up being a painful extraction with the ever lovable Gladys. I think it’s time for Sam to give the whole Andi thing a break, after all building a relationship on lies is not the way to go. Even if the devil does give a good argument about not endangering those we love with the truth. It may be the best way to go. We see that Sam’s father is quite shaken up by the fact he finds Sam with a copy of his contract. Becoming uneasy he asks Sam to arrange a personal meeting with none other than the devil himself. With Sam agreeing that he’ll try, he seems to settle down. Until Sam gives him the news that there is no way he’ll ever have that meeting. This is when we get a first look of the possible unlikeable side to the man who got to continue his life the expense of his child. In a desperate attempt to calm the situation Sam give his contract to his father to read over, which leads us to the scene of his father burning pages from it. What could he be hiding then? If things keep going like this I would think it’s safe to say we’re on to a winner with Reaper. 9.5 Lina J |
